Scheduled Events and Speaker - The Saturday program includes an optional tour of the Wallaceburg Museum (from 10-12 am), lunch, a theme table, a show and tell table featuring different types of lighting and a silent auction.  The guest speaker for the meeting will be Sid Lethbridge, a member of Glasfax, speaking on the topic of “Canadian Glass”.  The HLSC optional dinner will follow the meeting. Room trading on Friday and Saturday nights is encouraged.

Friday 22 October Hospitality Room - HLSC is sponsoring the fourth in a series of informal Friday evening seminars for anyone interested in kerosene lighting.  The topic of this seminar will be “An Introduction to Coleman Lamps and Lanterns”, presented by Stan Walker and Tom Logan.  This free seminar will be held at the Oaks Inn in Wallaceburg, on Friday evening, October 22, 2010, at 7:30 pm.  This seminar is open to the public, and a membership in the HLSC is not a requirement to attend this meeting.  For questions about the HLSC or to reserve a spot in the seminar, please contact either Stan Walker at 877-867-0666 or Tom Logan at 877-654-6333, or send an e-mail to lampcollector@gmail.com.

Room rate:  $87.95 per night plus tax. There is the possibility of that rate a few days either side of the meeting dates. Hotel reservations must be made by July 7th, 2010 for the Club rate.

The Rushlight club will be holding its summer meeting jointly with the National Association of Aladdin Lamp Collectors, on August 5th, 6th and 7th at the Holiday Inn Select in Columbia, MO. Anyone interested in lighting devices and /or fixtures and the fuels used from the 18th century through the 20th century is welcome to register for this meeting. The Rushlight banquet and meeting will be on Friday evening, August 6th. 2010 Eastern States EAPGS Meeting

September 22-26, 2010

 ALL members of the Early American Pattern Glass Society are cordially invited to attend the 2010 EASTERN STATES EAPGS MEETING in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 22, 2010 through Sunday, September 26, 2010.

 THE MEETING:  The meeting will begin on Wednesday evening with an informal member-gathering and conclude on Saturday and Sunday with Jeff Evans’ Sixteenth Annual catalogued auction of Early American Pattern Glass (4,500+ pieces!)

Program plans include member glass sales and displays at the Courtyard Marriott in Harrisonburg on Thursday followed by a reception at “Sites House,” the historic circa 1800 home of Jeff and Beverley Evans, and seminar sessions at the Evans Auction Gallery on Friday.

Planned seminar presentations include a talk by Jeff Evans on early flint EAPG, a presentation by Will McGuffin on “Photographing Your Glass,” book-signing talk by Joanne Autenreith for her new book on the Co-operative Flint Glass Company, a presentation by Dean Six on “The Collections of the West Virginia Museum of American Glass,” and a pre-auction Gallery Walk with Jeff Evans.

REGISTRATION: A registration fee of $45 per person covers the Thursday evening reception, morning coffee, tea and muffins on Friday, and a box lunch on Friday. Registrants are on their own for all other meals. The registration fee also defrays the cost of other expenses of the meeting. Your registration form and your check for the registration fee (made payable to Eastern States EAPGS) should be set to Jim and Ann Walters at 4479 Drifton Drive, Columbus, OH 43227-2532 before August 15, 2010.
